
How a Friendship and a Shared Hustle Became a Brand for People Who Love Dogs
Good Boys Social Club was officially founded in October 2024, but like any good origin story, it started long before that. Born out of friendship, a shared hustle, and a desire for more meaningful connection, GBSC is more than just a brand. It’s a community for people who love dogs, good gear, and real moments.
From COVID Chaos to Connection
In 2020, I moved to Orange County and joined Rivian, where Drew was already working. He was the guy who made everyone feel included, quick to say what’s up, ready to grab a beer. That spirit? That’s the soul of GBSC.
Over three years working together, we realized we were both built for entrepreneurship. Hustlers at heart. When we got laid off, we didn’t see it as the end, we saw it as the opportunity to start something real.
The Idea That Ignited It All
By 2022, we were deep in idea mode. We tried a few things but nothing stuck. Then, In October 2024, I read 12 Months to $1 Million, a book that helped me rethink how to build a successful, meaningful brand. At a soccer game that October, Drew and I started talking, and it clicked. We had the same fire. Same goal. We left that game with a commitment: follow the plan, launch in January 2025, and kick some ass.
Why Dogs, Gear, and Connection?
We boiled Good Boys Social Club down to three things we care about:
- Dogs are family: They ground us, bring joy, and show up for us daily.
- Style matters: We love timeless, well-designed gear that feels as good as it looks and serves a purpose.
- Community is everything: After COVID, we wanted more real-life hangs and shared experiences.
So, we built what we couldn’t find out there. A brand that brings all of that together.
